I know you can get MUCH longer affinity timers by using alcohol instead of food – but I have no idea how people are able to customize 30+ day drinks. I know how to make complex moonshine, which gives me the toy affinity, but anything else is beyond me. I’d love to figure this out one day.
Adventures continue in Divinity Original Sin II with my husband – we managed to escape Fort Joy, had a living ship sail us around (which reminded me VERY MUCH of Robin Hobbs books), and visited the underworld or some such before we were spat back out on a much larger map. We rescued a little baby chick from some void creatures, and then they killed the entire flock of chickens EXCEPT for this evil-ish one, so now I’m leading around a wee tiny void chicken.
Gotta say, this game is enjoyable for the stories, that’s for sure. We’re playing on story mode so there isn’t much chance that we’ll actually die from anything (though we did, once) and I’m comfortable with that. It’s a great way to spend an hour or two together in the evenings when the kids are asleep.
Plain knitting is nice and relaxing – but I find it REALLY boring. A short repeat pattern would be easier to knit than this. The pattern is simple – 3″ of ribbing, followed by 12″ of plain knit, and another 3″ of ribbing. Done in the round, this cowl is an alternative to a scarf, and should keep my neck (and chin) warm when the wind blows in winter months. I started it a while ago but haven’t kept up with it, and now I’m trying to focus and get it completed. I have so many other projects I want to work on – but I think finishing off a few WIP is in order first. After this, I want to complete the socks I’ve been slowly working on, and I want to finish off that Silver Bell Sweater eventually. Fighting with the knitting needles isn’t fun (they’re an older pair of knitpicks needles, not nice Chiaogoo or Hiyahiya) but the sweater deserves to be completed and I’m anxious to be able to wear it.
To keep people busy until 5.5 releases, there are certain events you can do in game that reward a currency you spend to get neat appearance items, emotes, map travel unlocks – and mounts. It’s simple things like running the main scenario and doing the pvp frontline. I’ve been saving up for a while and I was finally able to afford this beauty! Pretty. I’m no where near ready for 5.5 since I haven’t even finished the base story yet, but I’m excited for everyone else. I’ll get there – eventually.
I love gpose mode in FFXIV – and I love my minions even more. This little dude looked like he was enjoying a meal chomping down on some innocent bystander’s ankle.
