Mabel the Chicken
I’m experimenting this year with parfait yarn and making plushies, in crochet. Here’s my very first one that I made back in January – a chicken named Mabel.

I have some unofficial goals that I’m attempting for 2024, and I thought I’d put them out here so they’re ‘in the world’ for a bit of accountability. They’re not enormous, but I hope it will help further my artistic endevours, especially on days I just don’t feel like it.
As far as creativity goes, those are the goals I hope to achieve. I’ve left them broad and open ended on purpose, with no real direction given in the hopes that I will naturally stumble into activities that complete them over time. We’ll just have to see! What about you, have you set up your creative goals for 2024 yet?
I’ve been trying to make use of my traditional art supplies a bit more on the days when my hands don’t hurt so bad. Last year I didn’t make nearly enough time for art, and while I do see some improvement, I know if I want to get better, I need to put in the time.

It’s just a quick little doodle I did during lunch, but I like it!
I had a lot of fun with this little doodle! I did a wet on wet technique for the fish, waited for it to dry, then went over it with my lamy safari (medium nib). I don’t normally paint animals, so it was a little bit of a change for me!
I posted a few clips of some art from 2023, this is done in Procreate on the ipad. It’s sped up but I’m thinking of posting some in real time for 2024. This one in particular is one of my favourites. If you like that sort of thing, I’ve collected them all into a play list, and don’t forget to give me a follow on YouTube so you can get notified when more are posted!
