Real Life

Tagged – 8 Random Facts

Tagged again, this time by Calreth over at Thermonuclear Exchange

Rules

1. Link to your tagger and post these rules.
2. List eight (8) random facts about yourself.
3. Tag eight people at the end of your post and list their names (linking to them).
4. Let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving them a comment on their blogs.

– I’m not going to tag anyone else, so I’m sorry if it dies with me, but feel free to post your own eight random facts if you’re interested in picking it up! So many tags and what not float around these blogs I’d hate to have people start getting cranky with me.

1. When I was around 13 years old, I taught myself to write with my feet. I couldn’t bare the idea of losing my hands and being unable to write since it is such a huge portion of my life.

2. My cat likes to play fetch. Not exactly a random fact about me, but hey she’s a part of my life, so it counts. She has these little plastic mice that she drags across the house and chases after them, drops them slightly out of reach, and does it again. Then she’ll get bored. Of course.

3. I have a tattoo of a small dragon, a graduation present from my parents.

4. The adult fun super store here in town is giving away free edible underwear if you buy a costume for Halloween. How’s that for random. Before you start wondering what sort of perverted woman I am, it was actually a commercial on the radio mentioning it first.

5. I used to be a girl scout.

6. I’m allergic to real gold. Not white gold, but the yellow coloured gold. I can’t wear it in my ears or in jewelry, it makes me puff up and get all itchy.

7. I’m left handed.

8. I didn’t start getting interested in fantasy until I was 15 or so, my brother got me started on books that he used to read and by a mud he used to play.

Quitting? Naw, lets just call it taking an extended break

So it’s come to that time of the year where I cancel my EQ2 account at least for a little while. I’ll be wandering around in WoW and attending to that thing called “real life” that we all like to avoid. Unfortunately I’m just not feeling satisfied in EQ2, nor am I feeling challenged, or anything else that would keep me in the game. I’ve given my msn out to those who want to keep in touch, and my email can be found at the top of this site. I’ll still blog and work on some digital images, but until RoK comes out, I just was not happy. I won’t call it quitting, since I always come back, but a break is needed.

Hopefully my readers will check back from time to time, and enjoy the past posts here! I knew when I created the blog that it wouldn’t just be limited to EQ2, hence the other categories. Safe travels no matter what mmo you find yourself in!

For those who are interested, you can keep reading about my mmo adventures here.

.. Wow it’s a Small World..

So, I happened to be browsing through eq2players as I typically do when the servers are down for patches, and I came across this article that was an interview by a Jon Wood from mmorpg.com interviewing Chad Haley, character art lead for Eq2. Now the amusing part –

I know Jon Wood, or used to at least. In fact, I used to date him. He’s from Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia (or at least was when I lived there, I’ve no idea where he’s at now, we lost touch quite some time ago). I haven’t talked to him in probably a good.. oh.. 10 years. Maybe a little less. I had heard of him doing this web site through a mutual friend of ours, a Patrick Gibbons, a few years back. I didn’t really think anything of it though.

What a small world. Or at least an odd coincidence that I stumbled onto the interview that he did. It just goes to show that you never know where some people you grew up with may end up. I must say I’m quite proud of him. That may seem odd of me to say, but it makes me feel good to see him doing well.

It’s always nice to be home

Niagara Falls, pretty to visit, but it’s good to be home

One of the (many) pictures I took of Niagara Falls, the picture is of the Horse Shoe Falls, on the Canadian side. It’s roughly a 6-7 hour drive to get to the falls, left really early. The hotel room wasn’t ready so we spent a few hours wandering around. Everything is of course very expensive. The hotel over looks the falls, and is within walking distance easily. Just as an example of how expensive things are, if you want a room that over looks the falls themselves, it’s $150 more expensive then the exact same rooms on the opposite side of the building that over look the city. Go figure. I had a blast though. We did the walk beneath the falls because it’s just one of those things that you have to do, and spent the rest of the time sight seeing. There were people everywhere even though tourist season hasn’t officially started yet. The weather couldn’t have been more beautiful.

It was nice to come home, Princess was trying to sneak herself into my suitcase before we left, poor thing couldn’t come along on this trip. We actually made it home early enough to attend raids on Deathtoll, and I’m happy I went, as plate greaves (relic pants) dropped. They were a huge upgrade to Dasie, who was wearing the quested legendary ones from Loping Plains. The new ones add 62 points to one of her direct heals, and also have 150 power vs. the 50 power of her old ones. Deathtoll itself was a little.. messy. To say the least. We’re missing one of our key dps’ers and that makes a huge difference. Even with almost perfect group set ups people seemed to be slightly off. We wiped a few times on the splitting drake, and we wiped once on Tarinax himself. People were either standing in the wrong spot, or not curing their dot’s because they were getting hurt badly. Of course the more people who die the worse the raid goes because the encounter spawns adds for everyone who dies. Some guilds mez, some guilds burn the adds. We need dps to burn those adds. If the dps is dead, and we’ve got multiple encounters up.. well, yeah. It’s pretty self explanatory.

Sword of Destiny, rewards were posted. Legendary and fabled. I am exceptionally excited about them to say the least. The legendary healer item is a 1h hammer with +75 to heals. The stats are not that amazing, it’s +20 wis +100 power and I think stam. The fabled one of course has better stats, and on hostile spells it also proc’s a life tap. Very worth it for Dasie to complete. If I were a mage, I’d be pissed off. Their staff is 2h and it also adds +75 spell dmg, but for a 2h item it just doesn’t seem worth it. Especially since for illusionists / coercers you can’t even use a 2h item with their spell chain line — they are removing the fact that you need off hand free for *some* of the aa lines, but I didn’t see anything mentioned about perpetuality, only for the other portions of the same chain. I suppose we’ll just have to see how it goes.
