My daughter has a yellow knit blanket that she carries around with her that I made for her when she was born, but she’s starting to outgrow it, so I decided that I would make her another one. The problem is, knitting blankets takes FOREVER. They’re beautiful, but a TON of work, especially using sport weight yarn like I was going to.

So I decided I would crochet it instead. With the help of a good friend I learned the C2C (corner to corner) stitch, which is incredibly simple. For the past few years I’ve had a bit of a hang up about crochet, my brain just did not want to process the ‘wrap around’ portions, I would get confused with how many times to YO (yarn over) and pull through. For some reason it just completely stressed me out.

I stuck with it, and for this blanket at least, things have been smooth sailing. The overall blanket should be rows of 10 alternating colours, and I’m hoping it will be a good size for her. The yarn isn’t quite as soft as I would like because it’s a cheaper brand, but it’s colourful and warm, and I’m eager to see what she thinks.
