Organization

I like to have everything in its place, in game and out. My husband has been less-than-enthralled with Shadowlands and is no longer playing WoW at all, so I decided to move my horde characters all back to Hyjal, where I’m part of an active guild of amazing people. I started by buying tokens and just moving a handful – but I knew I wouldn’t be comfortable unless I moved EVERYONE over. It cost a bit over a million gold, but in the end that itchy feeling I get when my characters are all spread out all over went away and I am much happier. Having my crafters all together is nice, spare guild banks, and all that good stuff.

Now my alliance characters are all on Argent Dawn, ready to pick back up any time I want, and my horde characters are all over on Hyjal. Both servers are completely different. Argent Dawn is alliance heavy, and low population roleplay server. Hyjal is horde heavy, high/full population regular server. Now I can continue working on creating / leveling one of each class for each server.

Happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself!

A bit of Alpaca

I’m still trying to work my way through the mountain of alpaca fiber I have – it’s going slow, but it’s such a delight to spin I know I just need to dedicate more time to it. I want to make this a three ply yarn, and I have 1.5 bobbins down. I’m thinking I should just learn to chain ply, I might feel better about the process if I could see more progress (like a finished yarn). I’ve tried chain plying before and I was absolute rubbish at it, so we’ll see how that goes. It just feels like this fiber is never ending – and that’s not necessarily a bad thing, it’s incredible to work with, but I’d love to start knitting with the finished yarn, or start a new fiber (or continue processing the two fleece I have).

Shawl Progress

I just made it past the 5% mark on my shawl – so much more to go! I’m very eager to see the gradient start to reveal itself. The first sections I worked were just simple yo lace eyelets, and now the new section I’ve started is some slip stitch designs that are pretty nice to look at (but difficult to photograph).

ALMOST 100 Fo

For all of the many years that I’ve been playing Wurm, I’ve never gotten 100 faith. I’ve owned countless priests, but in the yearly years they were purchased and I always re-sold them. I now have two priests, a Vynora on the older Souther servers that is at 70 something faith, and a ‘new’ one on the Northern cluster, a Fo, who is ALMOST 100 faith. For the past month I’ve been living on Harmony instead of Cadence, and I created 3 listeners who are also premium. The more listeners you have, the more faith gain you get each sermon. .02 per listener, in fact. Each day, every 3 hours, minus the few I actually get to sleep, I’ve been setting my alarm clock so I can sermon and get as many gains as possible. Praying between those gains to work on the benediction journal entry.

I hate the grind. If I were to only pray, reaching 100 would basically be impossible. Sermons are by far the fastest way to complete this, and unless you (or someone else) is willing to pay premium for extra listeners, it’s still slow. I was 55 faith when I joined the sermons, and I’m getting on average 1.5-2 points of faith a day. I paid for my extra listeners on January 4th, and had already participated for some time.

That’s basically wurm in a nutshell. It requires a lot of time, a lot of dedication even if it’s passive dedication (ie: I leave all 4 of my characters on 24/7 and set an alarm to come back to them every 3 hours while I do what needs to be done in real life).

Why this grind to 100?

So I can cast Lifetransfer & summon soul without requiring links. Is it worth the work? Well, that depends on the player. For me, personally, yes. It is worth it or I wouldn’t be doing it. I really want a 100 faith character. I’d ideally like BOTH my characters to be 100 faith, and I know there are sermons going on in the Southern servers as well, but I can only handle 1 sermon at a time.

Prayer is getting a revamp, and while some older players who grinded to 70 are frustrated at the change – I personally think it’s healthy for games to evolve over time, and I hope this helps players more than hinders them. It’s almost 800 hours to grind from 1-70 prayer which is a journal entry requirement for benediction and that’s just extreme when it’s a skill that grants almost nothing.

As always, happy gaming no matter where you find yourself!

Preparing the new Deed

I am not a fan of making the basics in Wurm. That includes bricks, nails, planks, and furniture. I’d much rather go exploring, find what I need decaying out in the wilds some place, and haul it home to repurpose. That was exactly the plan I set out with on the Sklotopolis server, and it paid off big time.

After two days of roaming around the Liberty server searching for goodies, I finally managed to find a few abandoned deeds that had houses I could remove via ‘clean up’ – a server feature that allows you to banish houses that have at least one decayed wall where the owners have been offline for more than 3 months. It’s a handy feature that allows property clean up to happen at a slightly accelerated rate, which personally I think is important in Wurm Unlimited where player retention is not always high.

Furniture, supplies, and so much food I can’t possibly use it all in my lifetime were just some of the spoils of my adventures. I also found some new forges, ovens, statues, rugs, a few lumps of seryll, a full set of 70ql steel plate, and other odds and ends.

Construction wise, I’m working on the storage building now having completed the outer walls of the stables. Interior walls of the stables and main house also need to be worked on. Progress is coming along, and I’m confident I can get the place looking exactly like it used to.

Upcoming events include a rift event on the 22nd that I’m pretty excited about. Hopefully I get some good prizes there, though I think I’ll want to create some battle sickles.

Happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself!
