Head North West under water, you’ll see a little under water village, keep going past that, you’ll find the skeleton rib cage. The point for the loc is a little bit off of the actual map.

An Axe from the Past (Polished Granite Tomahawk)

Level 30

– First step, be sure you learn the Kromise language (giant), you can get these from examining the idols that drop from the giants themselves. Once you’ve learned the giant language, go talk to Obsid Boulderboom (loc 820,1010). He will give you the quest ‘little tarby the lost’. He wants you to go save his bear from packs of wolves.

– Head to Tarby (loc 508,483) and three waves of wolves will spawn one after another. Kill them before they kill tarby. Once the waves are killed, right click the bear and tuck him into your pack. Then head back to Obsid, who will give you a cracked hand axe. Examin the axe to start the Heritage quest.

– The first step is to mine ten granite pieces from Wind Swept Rocks in the Thundering Steppes. This requires 90+ mining skill and they are a rare find. Expect to spend a good amount of time on this step.

Receive Reward: Pristine Piece of Granite

– You must then combine the pristine granite + ash stave + sparkling flower + the cracked stone hand axe. You can harvest the sparkling flower from shrubs or wood in Thundering Steppes, and you need artisan level 9 to craft the dull tomahawk.

Receive Reward: Dull Granite Tomahawk.

– Take the axe to Obsid. You must now sharpen the axe. In order to do this you will first need to kill 100 skeletons in any zone, we recommend the lower level zones as they will die faster. After completing this step return to Obsid.

– The axe is still not sharp enough so Obsid will then send you off to kill 25 Skindancer gnolls in the Thundering Steppes. This is a timed step, and you are given one hour to complete it. You can find the gnolls close to the splitpaw entrance, just across the way from Obsid.

Receive Reward: Sharpened Granite Tomahawk.

– After killing the Skindancers return to Obsid. You must now acquire the ink of an Octogorgon. Octogorgon is inside of the Cove of Decay. You must complete the “The Cove of Decay – Prison Break” quest to gain access to this dungeon. Kill Octogorgon for your reward.

Broken legendary gear, raids, and rants

Hmm. Only own two pieces, and yet three show up?

Lots of bugs happen in MMO’s, you can’t really avoid them. This one is an interesting one. The piece of gear is what my coercer wears, one of the legendary set pieces. The interesting part is that it shows me as wearing 3/7 pieces. It clearly also shows that I own 2/7 pieces (which I do) the shoes, and the sleeves. I’m also benefiting from the 2% spell crit chance.. and have no idea why. I’m not sure why this bug is here or when (if ever) it’s going to be fixed, but I find it amusing none the less. The legendary gear is not all that, but for a new ‘main’ who was wearing mostly treasured, it’s pretty good.

Decided that I wasn’t going to hop on the Vanguard wagon like a lot of those I know. I wasn’t really impressed with what I’ve seen and heard. Plus it would mean I’d need to get more space on my computer, you need 20 free gigs to play, and I have about 12 left after the random stuff I have, EQ2, WoW, NWN, photoshop, etc. I don’t want to have to buy computer parts for a game that I’m not even sure I want to play. So I’ll get the WoW expansion because I already know I like the game, I’ll give that a whirl, and in a few months I’ll see where Vanguard is at. If it seems like flocks of people are running for the game due to some reason that I’ve yet to hear from, I’m sure I’ll wander over as well. In the mean time, it’s just not worth it.

Raids went well this weekend. Clockwork is easiest of all the EoF instances, with Inner Sanctum following close behind, then Freethinkers, and Emerald Halls. Didn’t get a chance to go to EH this week since we were short healers, but perhaps next time. I really wish people could stick around longer, or that we had a few more constant raiders, but well, that happens with time. Especially since it’s the tail end of the holidays, some are still out. Then there’s always those who are sick, who have family things come up, computers break, and any other number of issues.

So, about WoW. I’m not sure if I’m going to keep playing the characters I have, or start a new one, or trying to find a some what static-mature bunch of people to play with (do those exist in WoW?) or what. I really do enjoy the game, but I think I’d like it a great deal more if I actually had some people to play with as opposed to just playing alone 90% of the time and having to listen to “lawl nooborz” and other random comments. The community is the only thing that turns me off of that game. We’ll just have to see how it goes!

Dragoon K’Naae of the Thexians (Shiny Brass Halberd)

Level 27

– Starts from Dragoon K’Naae in the East of Nektulos Forest (-1373,-1336).

– The first order of business from the Dragoon is to acquire 60 Owlbear Meats in Nektulos. These drop on the Ash Owlbears in the zone. After doing this return to K’Naae. You can find the owl bears moved now, to the south eastern corner of the zone, close to the commonlands entrance.

– He will then ask you to collect 60 Undead Skin Scraps. You can obtain these from the undead and patchwork men near the entrance to Nektropos Castle. After acquiring all 60 return to Dragoon K’Naae. You used to be able to use the skeletons that were along the banks of the river beside the commonlands entrance, but they no longer give the updates now.

– He will then give you a flask of water which you must fill at Behemoth Pond (-226,-237) in Nektulos Forest and return to him. The return is timed, you have 9 minutes to run it.

– You will then be asked to kill Captain T’Sanne at the Gul’Thex Citadel (+666,-719) to recover a weapon from him. Captain T’Sanne is a triggered spawn from a short ring event. If you enter the citadel and you see some skeletons inside at the bottom level, kill them. After the skeletons are cleared a time or two Captain T’Sanne will spawn. He’s a level 29-30 ^^ Group mob who comes with two guards. After doing this return to Dragoon K’Naee. If the ring event isn’t up (you walk in and see no groups of skeletons along the bottom floor) just be patient and wait, someone must have cleared it before you. The event is on a two hour timer.

When you get near Dragoon K’Naae you will be ambushed by three Ebon Mask Assassins. Kill them and speak to Dragoon K’Naee to complete the quest.
