Dungeon Dive: 100 Runs of Sunwell Plateau (51-60)

Another week, another 10 runs of Sunwell Plateau under our belts! This marks 3h spent in the zone (30m each group of 10 runs), and in actual gold earned from sales (plus raw gold drops) my 61 speed druid is looking at a total of 155,999g which means the GPH is 51,999g – not too shabby for a single character running a single dungeon. You might remember that the last run rewarded VERY little, hence the lower GPH this week. It all depends on RNG and what sells vs. what does not sell. Here’s the overall stats to date:

  • Total approx gold earned (runs 1-60): 905,389
  • Actual amount earned from sales to date: 155,999g
  • Actual amount of GPH: 51,999g
  • Value of items listed on the AH: 137,451g

Last week we only had 44k worth of items on the AH, so it’s nice that we added a few items of note this week (two schematics, one for goggles which are used in an achievement). This isn’t the best gold farm in the world by any means, but it is nice and simple with a low barrier of entry.

Keep in mind you may be able to make more / less gold on your own server, the items I’m selling are NOT commodity, therefor they ARE server specific. I’m playing on a high population server in NA, and prices are quite all over the place (usually on the lower side of things) but sales are far more steady than if I were on a low population server. You’ll have to try different methods out, and see what works for you.

Doing SOMETHING to make gold in game is at least a better option than doing nothing at all (if you’re going after gold, at least). As always, happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself!

Wurm Online – Node Update

When it was first announced that the way botanizing & gathering on tiles would be changing, I was a little reluctant to get excited. I decided to play it safe and just approach it with a ‘let’s wait and see’ approach, and I’m so glad that I did.

Normally characters would run around, right click and interact with a tile, and you’d botanize or gather on that tile with no real visual indication on if you’d receive anything, and it felt like a lot of RNG. With this latest change, players will be able to SEE if the tile contains a node you can harvest, and then the amount of items harvested, quality, and specific items, are skill based.

I love it. I love being able to visualize what’s being harvested, and being able to head directly to the area I want instead of trying every single tile where I might not get anything at all.

After a few minutes of running around, I had a good selection of harvested items. It doesn’t feel too underwhelming, and while the items I harvested were nothing exciting, my skills are also not that great, so it felt on par as far as balance goes. This gives me a renewed reason to wander around exploring and harvesting the bits and bobs that I can SEE instead of passing them all by. Maybe you can teach an old dog new tricks after all.

Happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself!

Dungeon Dive: 100 Runs of Sunwell Plateau (41-50]

Well, this week we’re up to 2.5h spent running Sunwell plateau, and we’re also up to 144,432g in actual sales! That brings our current GPH to 57,772g.

Runs 51-60 were pretty uneventful, as you can tell by the LootAppraiser screenshot above, I looted 3 noteworthy items, and only walked away with an appraisal of 55k gold. That is of course grossly over estimated on my high pop realm. Right now I have around 44,000g worth of items on the AH, most of our recipes sold this week, hence the 57k gph. Let’s look at the numbers:

  • Total approx gold earned (runs1-50): 779,000g
  • Actual amount earned from sales to date: 144,432g
  • Actual amount of GPH: 57,772g
  • Value of items on the AH: 44,000g

Honestly, for 2.5h of work, I’m pretty happy with 144k in gold. That’s not too bad at all. Still, a lot does depend on RNG and your servers market. If you’re on a low population server you may find sales sparse, but when they happen, they’ll be big. If you’re on a high population realm like I am, sales may be pennies, but you make a lot of them, and they add up over time. It’s a fascinating challenge, and I’m always excited to see what loot I may walk away with. We’ll see next week if we can get closer to that 60k gph, although with this weeks abysmal run, I won’t hold my breath.

Dungeon Dive: 100 Runs of Sunwell Plateau (31-40)

A total of 2h of goldmaking and 40 runs of Sunwell Pleateau (trash only) and this is what LootAppraiser has told us the potential gains have been for this week: 106,240g

  • Total approx gold earned (runs1-40) is: 724,315g
  • Actual amount earned from sales to date: 74,969g
  • Actual amount of GPH: 37,484g

Value of items on the AH: 120,564g

While the numbers of estimated gold and actual gold are still pretty sparse, it’s not all doom and gloom. Gold IS being made, and if doing these dungeon runs is something you enjoy, then there’s absolutely no harm in running them and putting everything you obtain up for sale. Making 37k gph is not a horrible feat. You might also just get a lot more lucky than I have with sales, I’m currently playing on a high population server, and sometimes there’s a lot of competition (or I just don’t have anything valuable up on the AH when someone wants it). This week some recipes finally sold (the goggles are fast movers these days as they’re tied to an achievement) and a few grey/white items. Nothing of very high value, but at only 2h spent, I’m not going to complain too much. Let’s see what next week brings!

Dungeon Dive: 100 Runs of Sunwell Plateau [21-30]

We’re on 1h30m of gold making after 30 runs of Sunwell Plateau, and this is what LootAppraiser has told us the potential gains have been:

  • 1-10: 122,091g (estimated)
  • 11-20: 252,247g (estimated)
  • 21-30: 253,737g (estimated)

Total: 618,075g (approx: 412,050g per hour)

Actual amount earned to date: 35,229g (approx: 23,486g per hour)

Amount still on the auction house: 272,155g

The numbers of actual gold earned vs. estimated gold earned are VASTLY different – but – making 20k an hour (give or take) may not be a horrible investment of time if you’re enjoying what you’re doing. I did pick up a fair number of recipes this past run, so we’ll have to see where sales go in the future. Keep in mind this is on a high population server and your own gains may be lower or higher than the TSM region market value average that I’m using as a price point.
