How To Get the Bracelet of Lucky Charms – In Tanvu #VGD #Vanguard

The Isle of Dawn is great, and I typically suggest that new players start off there to get familiar with the game of Vanguard – however, if you’re an older player (like myself) and have characters already situated in Telon, chances are you’ve looked in envy at the other characters you have who snagged themselves a very nice charm bracelet with some essential stats that are good at any level.

No longer!

Today I decided to work on this bracelet with my 50 Raki disciple, Stargrace. Since the starter villages have been reduced, Raki now start on the Kojan continent, in the village of Shang. I swam there to begin my adventures, but really you’re looking for Celinal in Dallerjuba Village. Remember you can right click an empty hotbar slot and make a text only macro to /target Dallerjuba if you can’t find her yourself. This is the little bit of land that’s directly across the water from Tanvu. You’ll want her quest called Redemption. You’ll get the very first charm; the Dawn charm.

Then you’ll want to go visit Master Kaol. He’s a bit east-north-east of Celinal. The quest he offers is The Final Steps. Finishing that will give you the sun charm.

Third you’ll go visit your good friend Oki. Also located in the Dallerjuba village along the beach. She’ll give you the quest Oki’s Jewels, and you’ll get the dusk charm. It’s the third charm and now all you need is the webbing.

So finally you’ll head south past Tanvu, past Master Garu’s Monestary which should be marked on your map, and you’ll come across a little lake with a pond and you’re looking for Ashlaine. Again you can use a macro key to find her if you can’t spot her. When you accept her quest you’ll be able to talk to Kalen, who will give you a number of quests but the one you want is called Ring of Vision. Finish off that quest, turn it in, and you’ll have the web. Right click the web, and you’ll have the bracelet (so long as you have all of the other charms). This item goes in the diplomacy slot, and every 10 levels you can right click it and upgrade it.

I HIGHLY suggest people who have not completed the isle of dawn do this quest. It gives you an experience boost, and is one of those really nice items that you’re going to want to have.

As always, happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself!

A List of Useful Vanguard Sites #VGD #Vanguardsoh

I posted these links on the Vanguard forums, but they’re being revamped and I don’t want to lose the post, so I’m putting them here on my site. As of this date, all of these resource sites work. I’ll try to keep it updated.

Diplomacy Resources:

  • VGTact – (was moved to this link)
  • Backup of VGTact – Another backup of the much loved old diplomacy site

Crafter Resources:

Adventuring Resources:

  • VGWalkthroughs – I haven’t seen anything added since 2010, but the walkthroughs that are listed are still really handy
  • VGNecro – A class site for necromancers, this site hasn’t been updated in some time (2011) but necromancers may still find the information handy.

UI Resources:

  • VGInterface – still up and running, and updated. Looking for CoreUI? Drox? This is the place.

Map Resources:

  • Soresha.net – still in action and a fantastic site for all of your map needs.

Global Resources:

  • Telonica – a player driven wiki with up to date information on all three spheres. Remember a wiki is only as detailed as the players make it, so get involved!
  • Multiple Guides – scroll down to the bottom of the page, and you’ll see guides for mounts, factions, plat coin dropping mobs, griffon quest, KDQ, leeling, and many many more. The information may not be 100% up to date, but they’re still very helpful.
  • Vanguard links at SlydeRule.Net – Still up, but hasn’t been updated in some time, links may be out dated.
  • The Angry Wiki – A bit of adventuring, crafting, and diplomacy
  • Kayoss.net – A guide for racial mounts

Ghouls Just Want to Have Fun #VGD #Vanguard

It’s that time of year, where games everywhere have events to celebrate Halloween – and of course Vanguard wasn’t about to be left out! You can log into game and help celebrate  the Festival of the Grim Harvest, and while you’re doing that why not head to the forums afterward and share your scary screen shots with the rest of the community.

I eagerly picked up two quests from outside of New Targonar, including ‘Ghouls just want to have fun,” and “Tempted by the Treats of Another.” You can also head to Misthaven Crossing for more festivities, and keep your eyes open for more events and scary happenings all over Telon.

As always, happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself!

Important News re: ProSiebenSat.1 #EQ2 #EverQuest2

Taken from the official EQ2 forums

As many of you may have seen this morning on John Smedley’s Twitter, we have been working together with ProSiebenSat.1 Games to come up with solutions to some issues that have been brought up by our customers since the announcement of our publishing agreement with ProSiebenSat.1 Games in the EU Region. Together we have worked out a deal where existing customers will be able to choose whether they remain with Sony Online Entertainment or transfer to ProSiebenSat.1 Games.

Here are the tweets from Smed:

“I wanted to thank our players for continuing feedback. We’ve been listening along with our European partners at Prosieben. We’ve found a way to let existing players of our current games that are migrating over to Prosieben (EQ, EQ II, Planetside 2) keep their SOE accounts and stay with SOE. Down the road we may offer an option to move over to Prosieben. Just to be clear after these games launch on Prosieben’s service new accounts will be created on their sites. However all US and EU players can still play together no matter which service they are on.

I want to be clear that Prosieben will have better European CS and payment options IMO. That’s why we went with them in the first place. Also Prosieben has done a great job of listening and is working on changing some of their CS policies. More to come on that soon. Just going back and forth with our partners at Prosieben. I can confirm that we WILL offer the ability to migrate to Prosieben. No word on timeframe just yet, but shouldn’t take too long.”

Both SOE and ProSiebenSat.1 Games remain committed to making this transition as easy and beneficial as possible for players; more news will come in coming weeks, especially after we return from SOE Live.

Thank you for your patience.
