WoW Gold Making

What’s Happening on the WoW Economy Discord This Week [Oct5-12]

Sniping has been a big conversation this week, thanks in part to the Saddlebag Exchange community. This is an API sniper that links to discord, with plenty of guides on how to set things up. First timer snipers and long term snipers alike have been making use of the product, and the snips/flips/sales channel has been booming because of it. If you’re not into API sniping, it still might be worth it to lurk and figure out what items you want to add to your own server sniping list. I’ll be posting a more in-depth look at this one shortly, so watch for that.

Maybe farming is more your thing? If you’re looking for something low key to farm, you might want to try the Glimmer of Satisfaction from BFA. This is used in a number of pets, and is a random event while eating from a feast. Who wouldn’t want to eat their way to 100k+ gph!

Crafting has also been a popular topic of conversation this week – with Graceland boasting their profits of over 3 million gold from 18 days of crafting orders. That is some dedication right there.

Stockpiling for 10.2? Some are, some have learned their lesson from previous updates and are not. Whatever your decision, you can talk about it with the rest of the WoW Economy Discord.

That’s it for this week! Happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself.

Setting up Shadowlands Tables – Why?

I’ve been trying to refine my world of warcraft gold making habits, and focusing on how I can make use of my alt army. I watched this video posted by CanadiaTV and remembered that I had not set up the Shadowlands tables on these characters. I followed the guide and went about getting that done. The pet charms that you can obtain are still very much worth it, especially since I deal in selling only level 25 pets. Leveling them is the easy part – I use my tokens to upgrade the green pets to blue, making them look even more appealing on the auction house.

I’ve currently got two active WoW accounts, though I have been debating activating a third just for fun. On my second account is where I keep all my AH / market stuff, and my daily routine has me logging in once or twice a day to 25 characters to put items for sale. I don’t partake in cancel scanning, I find it a waste of my time. Next, I’ll handle my SL tables. There’s really not much to that, I send off any pet tokens to one ‘holder’ character, send out new missions, and move on. I use the TLDR addon which is absolutely essential in making this a painless process.

After those chores are done, I log in to one of my four main crafters and complete their crafting weeklies. Four characters allows me to cover all of the professions, I don’t usually bother with gathering unless I need a bit of down time. Spreading the characters out 1 per day helps stave off burn out, and still gives me 3 days of misc. things to do (like timewalking). I have 4+1 “main” characters, this season I’ve been playing Petites over on A52 as my main, she’s an evoker, and I am absolutely loving the class. Then I have a paladin, Demon hunter, Monk, and Priest as my ‘back up’ characters (they cover my professions, also). I feel like having these 5 characters is plenty for me, but that does mean I have 30+ ‘unused’ characters who have no real purpose. I tend to level up alts and then forget about them, which is of course the whole reason that I’m setting up the Shadowlands tables, so they can be semi useful. I’ve got 12 done so far, and I’m hoping to get the rest up and running before too long. It does take a bit of time to get it all set up, but in the end it really pays off, and being consistent is absolutely worth it.

As always, happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself!

The Cost of the NA Token

It was time for me to restock some Blizzard balance before BlizzCon started, and refresh a few months of game time on each of my accounts. The cost of the token has never really bothered me, but I know for some others the high value has been a bit of sticker shock. Normally the NA token is quite a bit behind the EU token, but we’re slowly closing the gap.

I think there’s a number of reasons for this, number one – items in the market. You can buy extra tenders, you can buy transmog, pets, mounts, character services – all of this can be purchased with gold. Plus there’s all of the other Blizzard games you can also use gold for. I bought Diablo for my husband, but I used gold. New pet? Let’s buy it with gold. Yes, I know I could wait until they put that adorable cutie on the trade post, but why not just use gold.

When people have a reason to buy tokens from the AH (ie: Bnet balance) the cost of the token goes up. When there’s nothing to buy, it goes down. There’s been lots to buy for a good while now, and I don’t see that slowing down any time soon.

Weekly Gold Making Wrap Up [Sept10-Sept17]

I’ve been back to world of warcraft ‘full time’ for two weeks now, and this week I made 5 million gold in profit, which was just lovely. I’m spending approximately 1h each day keeping this going, I don’t want to invest any more time than that. I’m currently spread across 20 servers, with one being my ‘main’ server (which is also low population, and thus very slow sales).

I haven’t been doing too much crafting, but that’s on the list. My evoker (current main) needs to switch from 2 harvesting professions to at least one crafting, there’s just not enough ‘stuff’ for me to do on that character. I’m having a blast playing her, and I11’m just shy of finally reaching my 2k rating for M+ this season. I’m at 1755, with plenty of dungeons left to go.

In any case, it’s good to be back playing, it’s nice to be making gold, and I’ve been lurking in the WoW Economy discord again to see what everyone is investing in. I’ve got about 300 pets to level (oof) and finding the time to do everything has been the most difficult part.

As always, happy gaming, no matter where you find yourself!

Weekly Gold Making Wrap Up [Aug28-Sept4]

After life decided to toss me around a bit, I’m back in World of Warcraft – back to making gold, and just playing the game and enjoying myself. Last week was the first week I managed to get items back up for sale, and with a 2.5 million gold profit I’m pretty pleased. Today (Tuesday the 5th) is of course the drop of 10.1.7 and a scheduled 8h downtime is taking place, so I didn’t bother re-listing yet. I’ll either do it tonight once servers are back up, or I’ll catch it tomorrow morning. I tend to list my items for 24h at a time since I’m on daily, and it takes me approx. 1h to list everything across 20 NA servers.

I did also manage to get most of my crafting done for the week. I have four characters working on this, and my latest ‘main’ (an evoker) is my gathering character. I don’t spend a lot of time gathering, but every once in a while I enjoy it. I’m looking for small ways to challenge myself and to keep myself interested without feeling overwhelmed, and I think sticking to a solid main is part of that challenge. It has been years since I’ve settled down with a main, and something I’ve always envied about other players who somehow managed to stick with just one character that they love.

In any case, gold making continues to be the driving force behind my time in Warcraft. The cost of the token on NA has shot up over 320k per (at the time of this post) and yet I still managed to pick up a few and extend my game time. I’m planning on keeping both accounts active since I do sales on one and play on the other. I’ve been leveling up some alts (on the alliance side of things this time) and over all, it just feels good to be back in game. It’s almost fall, the weather should hopefully be cooling down soon, and there’s something to be said for just being able to relax with a comforting game that you know pretty well.

As always, happy gaming – no matter where you find yourself!
