Broken legendary gear, raids, and rants

Hmm. Only own two pieces, and yet three show up?

Lots of bugs happen in MMO’s, you can’t really avoid them. This one is an interesting one. The piece of gear is what my coercer wears, one of the legendary set pieces. The interesting part is that it shows me as wearing 3/7 pieces. It clearly also shows that I own 2/7 pieces (which I do) the shoes, and the sleeves. I’m also benefiting from the 2% spell crit chance.. and have no idea why. I’m not sure why this bug is here or when (if ever) it’s going to be fixed, but I find it amusing none the less. The legendary gear is not all that, but for a new ‘main’ who was wearing mostly treasured, it’s pretty good.

Decided that I wasn’t going to hop on the Vanguard wagon like a lot of those I know. I wasn’t really impressed with what I’ve seen and heard. Plus it would mean I’d need to get more space on my computer, you need 20 free gigs to play, and I have about 12 left after the random stuff I have, EQ2, WoW, NWN, photoshop, etc. I don’t want to have to buy computer parts for a game that I’m not even sure I want to play. So I’ll get the WoW expansion because I already know I like the game, I’ll give that a whirl, and in a few months I’ll see where Vanguard is at. If it seems like flocks of people are running for the game due to some reason that I’ve yet to hear from, I’m sure I’ll wander over as well. In the mean time, it’s just not worth it.

Raids went well this weekend. Clockwork is easiest of all the EoF instances, with Inner Sanctum following close behind, then Freethinkers, and Emerald Halls. Didn’t get a chance to go to EH this week since we were short healers, but perhaps next time. I really wish people could stick around longer, or that we had a few more constant raiders, but well, that happens with time. Especially since it’s the tail end of the holidays, some are still out. Then there’s always those who are sick, who have family things come up, computers break, and any other number of issues.

So, about WoW. I’m not sure if I’m going to keep playing the characters I have, or start a new one, or trying to find a some what static-mature bunch of people to play with (do those exist in WoW?) or what. I really do enjoy the game, but I think I’d like it a great deal more if I actually had some people to play with as opposed to just playing alone 90% of the time and having to listen to “lawl nooborz” and other random comments. The community is the only thing that turns me off of that game. We’ll just have to see how it goes!

Dragoon K’Naae of the Thexians (Shiny Brass Halberd)

Level 27

– Starts from Dragoon K’Naae in the East of Nektulos Forest (-1373,-1336).

– The first order of business from the Dragoon is to acquire 60 Owlbear Meats in Nektulos. These drop on the Ash Owlbears in the zone. After doing this return to K’Naae. You can find the owl bears moved now, to the south eastern corner of the zone, close to the commonlands entrance.

– He will then ask you to collect 60 Undead Skin Scraps. You can obtain these from the undead and patchwork men near the entrance to Nektropos Castle. After acquiring all 60 return to Dragoon K’Naae. You used to be able to use the skeletons that were along the banks of the river beside the commonlands entrance, but they no longer give the updates now.

– He will then give you a flask of water which you must fill at Behemoth Pond (-226,-237) in Nektulos Forest and return to him. The return is timed, you have 9 minutes to run it.

– You will then be asked to kill Captain T’Sanne at the Gul’Thex Citadel (+666,-719) to recover a weapon from him. Captain T’Sanne is a triggered spawn from a short ring event. If you enter the citadel and you see some skeletons inside at the bottom level, kill them. After the skeletons are cleared a time or two Captain T’Sanne will spawn. He’s a level 29-30 ^^ Group mob who comes with two guards. After doing this return to Dragoon K’Naee. If the ring event isn’t up (you walk in and see no groups of skeletons along the bottom floor) just be patient and wait, someone must have cleared it before you. The event is on a two hour timer.

When you get near Dragoon K’Naae you will be ambushed by three Ebon Mask Assassins. Kill them and speak to Dragoon K’Naee to complete the quest.

The Return of the Light (Greater Lightstone)

Level 20

Starts from examining “Burned Out Lightstone” which is a body drop from the Lightbringer Wisp in the Commonlands. The wisp hangs out around the druid ring at (684,-96). Your level does not matter since it’s a body drop.

– The first thing you need to do is find someone who needs this lightstone. The person who needs it is Cannix Silverflame in the Commonlands (-310,-362).

– The first thing Cannix will ask of you is to touch the Mourned and the Forgotten with the lightstone. After completing this step return to Cannix.

  • The Forgotten (+172,+260)
  • The Mourned (-590,-632)

– Receive Reward: Faintly Lit Lightstone

– Cannix will then ask you to kill Rama’nai in the Commonlands. Rama’nai is a named lion at the Ring of Nature, near where the Lightbringer Wisp spawned. To spawn him kill the place holder, it should be a roaming or wandering lioness. After killing Rama’nai return to Cannix.

– Receive Reward: Dimly Lit Lightstone

Your next task is to kill two Orc Captains in the Commonlands. After killing the orcs return to Cannix.

  • Captain Gaer (or his placeholder Reag) spawns about loc (-855,+670)
  • Captain Ogof (or his placeholder Fogo) spawns about loc (-475,+678)

– Receive Reward: Softly Lit Lightstone

– The next step is to kill the High Priest of Val’Marr in the Commonlands. He is found at the Ruins of Val’Marr (+448,+574). The old method of spawning him required you to kill the groups of skeletons surrounding bone piles, however, this has been changed. You now need to clear the top of the towers around the ruins. Any tower can spawn the priest, so it’s best to keep them all clear. Return to Cannix afterwards.

– Receive Reward: Glimmering Lightstone

– He will then send you to kill General Drull. He can be found in Bloodskull Valley. The access for BSV has been removed, and to enter you no longer need to do the lengthly access quest. You can hail the npc located behind the rock to the right hand side of the door, and they will let you in. The encounter is also no longer epic, but is heroic. When you enter you will be rushed by various waves of orcs, just keep squishing them all until Drull spawns. Once he’s dead and you’ve gotten your update you can evac and leave the rest of the orcs up if you’d like.

– After completing this task return to Cannix and he will attack you, not wanting to give up the reward. Characters from Qeynos will not have to kill Cannix at the end of the quest. Instead a group of bandits will kill him. You must then kill the bandits to receive your reward.

Receive Reward: Greater Lightstone
Receive Reward: 30,000 Status Points
