Qeynos Claymore, and Deathtoll access : Complete!

Silverstep sporting her new Qeynos Claymore shield!

What a weekend. I said I had hopped to complete my Qeynos claymore, as well as my deathtoll access, and what do you know, I did! A huge thank you to my guild Torrent Knights, and all of my friends who helped me accomplish these goals. Without them I most certainly would not have done it. I’m exceptionally glad that I’ve finished them before EoF comes out, as I’m sure the guild will have new goals and quests to work on. Of course I can’t just say I’ve completed the quests without some links to the new pretties!

New bracelet from completing the Deathtoll access quest

One I finished this access quest, I also received a quest for a flame shield, that wants me to head back into Deathtoll in order to claim it. This will have to unfortunately wait, since I’ve got a lock out on the zone now. We went in with a full raid, and finished in a little under three hours, including everyone’s updates. We pulled Tarinax on the first pull, no deaths. It was great.

The Qeynos Claymore, reward for priests.

What a very long quest. I am exceptionally glad to be done with it, the rewards were of course fantastic. Legendary for the later ones, and fabled at the end. They reminded me of the epic quests in EQ1 for your class weapons, maybe not as unique, since everyone wears the same one, but still a very tedious and fun line. I’ve not yet decided if I’m going to do this quest with my templar or my coercer.. we’ll just have to see!

Another reward from the Claymore series

Fitzpitzle is a named gnome located in Deathtoll, and after visiting the zone and getting random update locations, you have to kill him, then kill Tarinax. The reward is pretty nice, I love anything that has a proc that goes off when I cast beneficial or hostile spells. More so with my fury now since I can push out some dps if I put my mind to it. Granted I am most certainly not on par with a T1 dps’er like a wizard or warlock or a scout, but I have my moments.

Next on the list? Getting Dasie (my 67 templar) some experience before EoF comes out, and working on tradeskills as well as book / collection quests to stock pile those aa’s! Going to be fun, I can tell…..

Chel’Drak DOWN!

Torrent Knights, Gathered around the body of Slain foe, Chel’Drak

I have to say. This has been one of the most absolutely amazing weekends I’ve ever had game-wise in EQ2. Wow. Where to even start. The guild began our night by attempting to take down Chel’Drak, which is a named mob in the Fallen Dynasty adventure pack, in a raid instance that you gain access to by completing a chain of quests (as always) as well as a x2 zone, Roost. He’s an orange epicx4 with a unique tactic that has to be used to kill him, as he spawns verious types of adds and he also has two types of aoe’s that go off, one of them proximity based. This is certianly no easy fight I could not be prouder of our raid force.

Not only did we kill Chel’Drak (on our last attempt for the day none the less) but I won one of his loots, a pair of very nice priest boots, server discovery.

Looted boots from Chel’Drak, to keep Silverstep’s feet warm

Once we downed Chel’Drak it was a breeze through Labs, granted I did die three times, but we decided to get playful and were not really seriously attempting to take down Vyemm the first few pulls. Then we buckled down. I needed Labs for claymore updates, tomes within the zone in fact. Managed to complete it! Which means, today I should be getting my Qeynos Claymore. FINALLY. Apparently the guild is also going to kill Gorenaire today, which means I’ll have completed my DT access quest as well as my Claymore in the same weekend that we took down Chel’Drak. Talk about incredible. I was excited and happy and chattered with friends, it was great. Marauders took down Vyemm for their second weekend in a row, and I was exceptionally proud to hear that. I also got a fancy new ring from completing the Fallen Dynasty quest lines, with a 5% reduced re-cast time on all my spells as an effect. For those spells that take three minutes to refresh it knocks 10 seconds off the re-cast timer, which is better then nothing, not to mention the ring is actually pretty nice. Hopfully tomorrow’s post will have some claymore screen shots!

Nizara, Claymore, and lots of raids

Silverstep, on top of a giant dragon snout in Nizara

Ok so I know I said I had hopped to post an rp note next, unfortunately that didn’t quite work out, and then I slacked on the posts all week, so hey, any post at all at this point is better then none, right?

Did Nizara again this week with some guildies, I absolutely love the zone even though you *really* need a superb group of people to go do it. The last mob is orange and hurts, takes lots of skill to be able to defeat her not to mention the x4 in the zone as well as the x2 epics that hang out. Then there’s the flame claw that no one enjoys and is on mobs in abundance. The loot this round was slightly disappointing, I did get the sword that dropped from the final named which has a nice 500 point heat proc 15% chance when I cast a hostile spell. I’m fastly learning that I love proc gear. More so on my coercer then my fury, but on my fury as well.

I also did nektulos castle 3.0. I adore that zone as well, it’s not very long, and you don’t need an incredible group to get things done, just a competent one. Nothing really useful dropped there but we did get a master (level 70) even if no one could use it.

Claymore. I am *almost* done! I’ve done pretty much nothing but claymore all week, after slacking on it for months now. I need to collect some tomes in Labs, and then all I’ve got left is Deathtoll, labs raid is tonight and Deathtoll tomorrow, so hopfully, fingers crossed, I will be DONE my claymore as of tomorrow night! Exceptionally excited about that, mark it off of my list of things to do before EoF. I only need one more dragon for Deathtoll access as well. I know some people who have had this stuff done for months now, but I admit, I don’t feel badly about waiting at all. It’s given me something to do while most people are utterly bored until the expansion hits. At least I’ll get it done before EoF hits and we’re pre-occupied doing other zones and other instances.

Claymore update, relic boots, and Deathtoll access

There are a few things I’d really like to acomplish and get done before EoF comes out, while people are still actually working on these quests. One of them, is of course my deathtoll access quest. I need two more of the named dragons, and then I’ll finally have that done and out of the way. Harla’Dar, which I’ve actually killed before and was just simply not on that part, and Gorenaire, which I’ve actually never killed before nor even seen. Hopfully the guild will be knocking those off in the next three weeks, I’m fairly sure we will, and if not, ah well I at least tried. The quest is part of another chain (go figure, it seems everything is a chain these days) given by Arbiter Selek who hangs out in Bonemire on a little island that you need to drop down to as you fly on a cloud over head. I can’t begin to describe the number of times I’ve missed this little island. There’s also no way off of it unless you gate or can evac out.

Claymore. Another huge chain of quests. I am on quest #24, which is an Audience with Aaryonar part of the palace of the awakened chain of quests. I have 7 more quests to go, and then my claymore will be completed. Since the guild is taking down Tarinax regularly every week I’m kicking myself for not being further along in the series. After this quest (which rewards some very nice leather shoulders might I add) it is a x2 raid that I need, hopfully the guild will schedule one later this week.

I also got some relic boots (finally) and am done away with the player crafted ones that I’ve worn for so long. My first pair of fury relic. Slightly disappointed that they don’t have any wisdom on them, but hey still very nice resists, very nice mitigation, and int which of course is great for me since I nuke quite frequently. So Claymore and DT access are on my new “to do” list, at the same time I’m trying to acomplish some book quests and updates that I can save for EoF, so that I can get some aa experience right off the bat. Other then that, game is going wonderful. I managed to watch Marauders take down Vyemm for their first time, with my coercer, I came to replenish them with some repair kits. Strike also took down the Matron, congradulations to them on the mythical. Expect an rp post for tomorrow’s update!

The Rift, The Master of the Fluttering Wing, and wuwu for house items!

The idol of the Soaring, quest reward from FD

I know, I’ve been slacking. I keep meaning to post and then get side tracked by something else, it’s just simply the way it goes. So this post will update what I’ve been up to concerning the Fallen Dynasty adventure pack, and then hopefully tomorrow’s post will be a general update and an rp one soon to follow. Busy busy busy! First thing first. The picture above is a bird head, hard to tell from the screen shot though. When you click it, this apparition shows up and does these weird hand gestures in lights around it. It looks really cool and also gives a chunk of status reduction (not needed quite so much since I’ve moved to a 3 room instead of a 5 room). The item is from completing a quest called ‘The Master of the Fluttering Wing’ which is a quest on the 3rd floor of the tower of wind. Which means it’s part of an annoying (but fun!) chain of quests, as there are two per floor and they each need to be completed before you gain access to the next floor. The quest is completed in a two group raid instance called Xux’laios’ Roost and wow was it fun. The zone itself is quite small, with a chance of a few named showing up if you get lucky when you zone in. The fight is pretty much all about the dps. Xux’laios teleports your raid to them if you click on his door, so it’s best to click and rush, then wall him. He has a huge knock back that flings you all over, and during the fight spawns sets of adds. The key to winning the fight is to dps him down before the 4-5th wave of mobs spawn because they’re orange epics and pretty much impossible to beat (at least for my guild currently). Anyone who knows me or reads this site knows I’m a sucker for house items, so this was a great fantastic quest and I’m glad I got it taken care of finally.

Quest reward and access to Chel’Drak

I also managed to complete the quest “The Rift”, which is another one of those tower quests. It sends you to Nizara, a zone within the Forsaken City, to first learn about the rift by examining four books within the zone, and then by defeating the final foe (who is orange, and hurts might I add, even if they’re not epic). Nizara is one of my new favorite zones, though I go there rarely and it’s *hard* in fact I’d say one of the hardest zones in the game, aside from raids. If you’re not raid geared, then my advice would be to bring LOTS of repair kits. You also have to be selective on who you bring in, this zone NEEDS two healers, and an enchanter. A great deal of named cover the zone, it took about 3-4 hours to clear through it. There is one epicx4 that can be single grouped but it’s a long slow fight with random teleportations during it, and there is also 1-2 epicx2’s who can also be one grouped. The loot in the zone (if you get a good run) is comparable to raid loot, I managed to pick up some pretties for my templar alt since leather has a habit of not dropping. It’s so hard to get a good solid group for this zone that unless you play with a static bunch of people who you constantly group with, or have one of those amazing guilds, few people ever see inside of it, let alone complete it. I really had a blast though. The reward is an item that grants raid access to Chel’Drak, who is on the kill list for today. Or the attempt to kill list at least we’ll have to see how it goes.

So that’s what I’ve been up to lately, I absolutely loved this adventure pack, a lot of depth to it, starts off with numerous solo quests and one group quests and then quickly advances into top end raids so there really is some content for everyone. Plus like I said, who wouldn’t want house items?!
